We keep emergency slots every weekday morning and on Saturday, for registered and unregistered patients alike. Call first so we can hold one for you.
Reception picks up from 08:00 on weekdays, 09:00 on Saturday.
If it is one of these, call us the same morning. If you are unsure, call anyway and we will tell you.
Especially if it keeps you awake or throbs when you lie down.
Often a sign of infection that needs looking at the same day.
Whether or not it hurts. Sharp edges can cut the tongue and cheek.
Keep the crown if you have it. It can often be refitted.
If it has not stopped after 30 minutes of firm pressure.
Time matters. Call straight away and read the steps below.
What helps while you wait for your slot.
1
Take the painkiller you normally use, at the dose on the packet. Do not put aspirin against the gum.
2
For swelling, hold a cold compress against the outside of the cheek, ten minutes on and ten off.
3
If a tooth is knocked out, hold it by the crown, not the root. Rinse it briefly in milk and put it back in the socket if you can, or keep it in milk and bring it with you.
4
Bring a lost crown or broken piece in a clean container, and a list of any medicines you take.
£95
On Sunday and when the practice is closed, call NHS 111. They can tell you what to do next and put you in touch with the urgent dental service for the area.
Go to A&E or call 999 if swelling spreads to your eye or neck, or you have trouble breathing or swallowing.
Call before 11:00 and we will hold a slot for you today. Emergency appointments are booked by phone, not by the online form.
