Verbena opened in 2014 in a former cobbler's on Via dei Serragli. It is one room, a cold store at the back, and a loft where we dry things in August.
We buy twice a week from four growers around Pistoia, and in spring from two fields outside Impruneta. What we cannot buy locally we simply do not sell, which is why there are no roses here in December.
Buys and wraps
Was a gardener for eleven years before opening the shop. She is the reason the bouquets look slightly wild rather than symmetrical.
Delivers and dries
Knows every porter in the centre by name, which is why your flowers end up with the right neighbour and not on a doorstep.
Most of what leaves the shop is not on the shop page. Tell us the budget, the occasion and two words about the person, and we build it and send a photo before it goes out.
For weddings and events we quote separately, and we only take one a weekend.
No floral foam, no dyed flowers, no glitter, and nothing flown in out of season. If you want red roses in December we will tell you honestly where to find better ones than ours.
